Danny John-Jules: Strictly 2018 star has 'tough week' after 'disagreement' with Amy Dowden

According to a source, Strictly Come Dancing 2018 star Danny John-Jules, 58, is struggling to master their upcoming Samba routine, which resulted in him having a disagreement with professional Amy Dowden, 27.

A Strictly production source told “Danny and Amy have had a tough week trying to master their difficult Samba.

“They had a minor disagreement earlier this week but were quickly back into rehearsals that same day and had a good rehearsal yesterday.

“They’re excited to perform together tomorrow night.”

On Wednesday, the pair had seemingly put their differences aside as they appeared to be getting on in Amy’s Instagram video.

The duo made their way to Strictly: It Takes Two together and appeared on the show that evening.

Last week, Danny and Amy performed the Quickstep to Freedom by Pharrell Williams.

Their performance received mixed comments from the four judges and the duo earned themselves 22 out of 40 points.

Shirley Ballas told them: “You push your strengths and hide your weaknesses. It snowballed and then didn't recover.

“I really believe it was a misstep of nerves that couldn't be picked up."

Craig Revel Horwood added: “Nerves and adrenaline took over in that performance, because it went completely out of wack. Better luck next time."

Dame Darcey Bussell said: “I know how frustrating it must be because you were light and effortless when it went right.

“That is a big shame because you have the most superb top line."

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Danny revealed the real reason why he doesn’t socialise with his co-stars, after saying he was on a “different level” to them.

He told The Sun he hadn’t been out with a single member of the cast and simply wants to focus on his dancing.

Addressing his comments, he told Lorraine Kelly on her self-titled show: “Well I’m 58, we finish at 10 O'clock at night, where else am I gonna go?”

Amy added: “He’s always saying, ‘I can’t wait to get home and have a bath’.”

Danny continued: “I can’t wait to get home because you know, you put your head on the pillow and before you know it you’re up again.”

This weekend, the pair will perform a Samba to Feels Like Home by Sigala, Fuse ODG, Sean Paul, Kent Jones.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
