Pennington talks

16:30: Leeds are in talks with Everton over a permanent deal for Matthew Pennington.

The 23-year-old utility man is on a season-long loan at Elland Road and has made nine appearances.

Thomas Christiansen has been impressed with Pennington’s performances in defence and midfield and wants him on a full-time basis, according to Football Insider. 

Bristol City joy

16:00 Bristol City star Joe Bryan was on cloud nine after opening the scoring in last night’s win against Manchester United.

He said: ”I don't know what happened; I made a third-man run, they didn't track me and I just hit it.

"My dad used to tell me since I was five until I was twenty 'just hit it', and it's gone in, dream come true.

"I didn't see it on the big screen, I was winded, all the boys jumped on me - I think I've broken about four ribs!"

Woodburn loan

20:30: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to sanction a loan move for Ben Woodburn.

The 18-year-old has made just one appearance for the Reds this term.

Leeds face competition from Huddersfield and Hannover, according to the Daily Mail. 

Forest eye Clarke-Salter

19:00: Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter is attracting interest from Nottingham Forest, say ESPN.

They claim the Championship outfit are keen on taking the youngster on loan.

He has made just one first-team appearance this season, against Forest in the EFL Cup in September, and Antonio Conte is ready to let him get some game time away from Stamford Bridge unit the end of the campaign.

Berardi admission

18:45: Gaetano Berardi has said Leeds should replace replace him with a “better player”. 

Berardi - a right-back by trade - has mostly featured at left-back since joining Leeds from Sampdoria in the summer of 2015. 

“It’s not my normal position but like every year I try to do my best – every week and every session,” he said. 

“I know probably this team needs a better player than me but I just want to play and do my best every Saturday.”

Johnstone problem

17:45: Aston Villa loan star Sam Johnstone has emerged as a target for Premier League trio Crystal Palace, West Brom and West Ham.

The Manchester United keeper is on a season-long loan with the Championship club and Steve Bruce hopes to land him on a full-time basis. 

But Johnstone’s deal at Villa Park could be torn up next month ahead of a permanent move away from Old Trafford. 

Bryan eyed

16:45: Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan is being targeted by Premier League duo Everton and Newcastle.

The 24-year-old has impressed for the high-flying Robins this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Everton and Newcastle scouts have been following his progress on a regular basis this term, according to Football Insider. 

Wolves deal

15:45: Wolves have handed a long-term contract to hot prospect Jack Ruddy.

The 19-year-old keeper is now committed to Molineux until 2020 with the option of a further year.

“I’m really pleased - I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my 18 months here and I feel like I’m progressing really well,” he said. 

“The coaches and the staff have really helped me during my time here and I get on with everyone really well so I’m really happy to stay here for another couple of years. 

Villa exit

15:15: Aston Villa defender Kevin Toner has joined St Patrick’s Athletic on a two-year deal.

Toner, who made four appearances for Villa, said: “I am delighted to join St Pat's and I am really excited about the future ahead here.

“I got the call from Liam [Buckley, the club’s manager] and after having a good chat with him and his plans, I knew I wanted to sign for the club. 

“Playing for Villa and a few clubs in England was a great experience, but having the opportunity to come back home and play football was something I wanted to do so I am delighted to sign with the club.”

Leeds talks 

14:45: Leeds United are exploring a move for for Heracles winger Brandley Kuwas.

Elland Road chiefs have opened talks with Curacao international Kuwas’ representatives to discuss a potential move, according to Football Insider. 

Leeds have been keeping tabs on his form and hope to beat a number of transfer rivals.

Kuwas, under contract with Heracles until 2019, has nine assists and three goals in 14 Eredivisie appearances this season.
