Donald Trump has hit back at former First Lady Michelle Obama’s attacks on him in her new book by calling her an attention seeker.

Asked about her attacks on Trump’s previous claims that her husband Barack was a foreign-born Muslim, the president said: ‘I haven’t seen it

‘I guess she wrote a book. She got paid a lot of money to write a book.

Responding to Michelle Obama memoir, in which she writes that she'll "never forgive" Donald Trump for his birther comments, Pres. The president then appeared to suggest he had read the Mrs Obama’s comments, saying: ‘What he did – cause she talked about safety – what he did to our military made this country very unsafe for you and you and you.’

He made the remarks while pointing at assembled journalists.

In a teaser for an interview on Sunday screened by ABC today, Mrs Obama blamed Trump for trying to ‘stir up the wingnuts and kooks,’ with his comments about her husband’s birth certificate.

The president also blasted a reporter who asked whether his newly-appointed Attorney Genera Matthew Whitaker would get involved in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump insisted any such decision was ‘up to him,’ but grew angry when asked if he wanted Whitaker to reign in the probe, saying: ‘What a stupid question you asked.’
