Man Utd fans split over potential Zlatan Ibrahimovic return

Manchester United fans are split over the potential return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Reports have suggested Jose Mourinho may look to bring the Swedish striker back to United on loan in January, after he left Old Trafford earlier this year for LA Galaxy.

Since moving to the MLS, Ibrahimovic has scored 21 goals in 25 appearances for the Galaxy as they look for a place in the MLS play-offs.

The 37-year-old left United in March after nearly two years in which he scored 29 times in 53 appearances, winning the Community Shield, EFL Cup and Europa League.

With United struggling to get any consistency in the league - especially upfront - the speculation linking Ibrahimovic with a return may appeal to some fans.

But when we asked supporters whether bringing the charismatic striker back to Old Trafford in January was a good idea, the answer was no.

53% of the 2100 respondents voted that Ibrahimovic was not the answer to United's current problems, although a sizeable 47% believe it would be a good call from Mourinho.

Discussing the poll, some fans criticised Ibrahimovic for his casual approach and argued that he is simply too old at this stage of his career.

Others claimed United are in desperate need of someone with his leadership skills and confidence when it comes to motivating players in the dressing room.

Zlatan's obvious goalscoring pedigree was an argument to bring him back as, currently, Romelu Lukaku has four goals this season, midfielder Paul Pogba also has four, Anthony Martial has two and Marcus Rashford has scored once.
